D2 plate is a high-carbon, high-chromium tool steel plate that is used for making tools that require high wear resistance, toughness, and shock resistance. It is also known as DIN 1.2379 and JIS SKD11 steel. 

Properties:

• Hardness: D2 steel can be hardened to a hardness of 55–62 HRC. 
• Wear resistance: D2 steel is highly resistant to wear and abrasion. 
• Corrosion resistance: D2 steel is corrosion resistant when polished. 
• Heat treatable: D2 steel can be heat treated using processes like vacuum hardening, nitriding, and induction hardening. 
• Microstructure: D2 steel has a unique microstructure with large, chromium-rich alloy carbides that enhance its durability. 

Uses:

• D2 steel plates are used to make cold work molds with complex shapes and high impact force. 
• D2 steel plates are used to make blanking dies, forming dies, coining dies, slitting cutters, and more.
